Lots of changes underway....

My website is being updated.  www.yourendlesssuccess.com  will now be a wordpress site that I will be able to update myself (using my trusty user manual that I am composing along the way).  This blog will be moved onto the site so I will not be adding posts here anymore.  I already have a few that are awaiting posting, things are just not totally functional (or totally clear to me) but once the kinks are ironed out I am hoping that the new blog (which is the moved over old blog and then continuing...) will function very much the same as this one has.

This technical learning curve I am on is steep!  I must be creating a lot of new brain cells :)

Just thought I would keep you posted (pun definitely intended) on the missing and upcoming posts and their new location :)

Are you doing what you are meant to be doing?

Everyone is a genius, but if you judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid...” ― Albert Einstein

Are you doing what you are meant to be doing?

Periodically I listen to the audio below, created by my mentor, Bob Proctor, one of the master teachers from "The Secret".  It helps me to clarify what I am doing, why I am doing it and how best to continue to do it.  I shared it with you in my very first email to you.  Some of you may have received that up to 6 months ago when I started this weekly communication - some more recently.

This recording was one of the things that helped me to clarify my own Purpose, Vision and Goals.  A few weeks ago I decided on a "shift" in my business.  I will absolutely continue doing what I am doing however it will have a new dimension, a new twist!  I recognized that I have a passion for families so I needed to find a way to help them have access to what I had been learning and teaching.

With that in mind, I am now working on adjusting my presentation to be more inclusive.  Even if you are not yet a parent, you were a child once  - so you will find this new format beneficial and informative.  It is still for adults, but suitable for children (aged 12 and up) as well.  I am excited about this new clarity for myself.

Because this recording could be helpful to you as well, I decided to share it once more.

It is 33 minutes long.  Enjoy!

Amazing opportunity to meet and have a photo with Eric Trump!  So glad I had my eyes open for this one!

Steve Wozniak and JT Foxx!

Here are my husband, Brian, and me with two most amazing people!  I don't know why I ended up with my eyes closed for the photo - but I know I wasn't dreaming!!  It really happened, at Mega Partnering V in Dallas just a few days ago!

Now that I know how to upload photos there will be more to come in future posts :)

Drinking from a fire hose!

Oh, my goodness, we just got home yesterday from a most amazing 12 days away!

First we attended Make Market Launch IT in San Diego, 2 1/2 days with Mike Koenigs and Pam Hendrickson.  Lots of new connections and amazing information from a great line up of speakers.

From there we went to Dallas for Mega Partnering V with JT Foxx :)  It was a full 5 days of more networking with the most amazing people AND a most amazing line up of speakers including Stedman Graham, Steve Wozniak, Eric Trump, Brett Michaels, Nido Qubein, Steven Bradbury - an event to remember to say the least!

I will be sharing insights from my notes over the next weeks an month.  Be prepared to be amazed :)

Delegation Anyone?

Today I am sharing another great resource.  It is an article by Raymond Aaron called The Power of Delegation

I have seen Raymond in person a few times and always learn great things from his insights.  He is very generous with his wisdom.  As you will see he gives permission to share this article so I thought I would do just that!  I hope you enjoy it and learn something from it - I sure did.

Gotta love learning!

I am on a steep learning curve these days!  Sometimes I feel like I am climbing straight up!  It is scary and exciting at the same time.  Internet marketing, sales, networking, administration, delegating, creating - never a dull moment that's for sure!  It is so great to know that no matter what it is that you need to know, there is someone who has been there and done that.  Make sure you follow the ones who were successful and you don't have to re invent the wheel, you can go along for the ride.  I am so thankful to have a variety of mentors and teachers in different areas.

Another Quote Collector!

I am going through a program called Make Market Launch IT by Mike Koenigs & Pam Hendrickson and found out that Pam is a quote collector like myself.  She shared several quotes re discipline in today's video lesson so I thought I would pass a couple along.

"Talent without discipline is like an octopus on roller skates.  There's plenty of movement, but you never know if it's going to be forward, backwards, or sideways."  H. Jackson Brown Jr.
"Self discipline begins with the mastery of your thoughts.  If you don't control what you think, you can't control what you do.  Simply, self discipline enables you to think first and act afterward."  Napoleon Hill

The Artist

I recently saw the movie, The Artist.  A silent film.  It demonstrated how we sometimes resist change.  When we refuse to adopt new technology, we can be left behind.  On the other hand, it showed how important it is to understand and respect the building blocks of how we got to the place we are today.  I don't think we are going to be seeing a number of more silent films.  The point has been made with this one.  It is a very unique, thought provoking film.  At least it was for me.

Success Condensed

I love TED Talks!  If you haven't heard of them, they are 20 minutes or less of some amazing information on a wide variety of topics.  The TED slogan is "Ideas Worth Spreading".

Indeed, I end up sharing them on facebook, my blog and in various groups.  Today I am going to share one with you!  Amazingly, it is less than 4 minutes, but still has great information - enjoy!

Onward and Upward

I chose as my "Yours truly" substitute for my weekly emails Onward and Upward.  It is a reminder to my readers and to myself, every time I see that, that it is a choice.  You either choose to go onward, or stay still (or at worst go backward).  You choose to look and move upward or the opposite.  It is a choice. It's that simple.

Your Ideal Environment for Growth

Your Ideal Environment for Growth

These lovely sunny days are making me feel that spring is on it’s way.  You may be thinking about flower or vegetable gardening, planning where different plants should go and when to plant them.  Personal growth and garden growth have some similarities.  As for your garden, you don’t have to be a farmer to know that it is important to plant in the correct environment for optimal growth.  Information about ideal conditions is readily available.  If you know that a plant will thrive in the sun you don’t put it in a shady area of the yard.   You know that too much water, not enough water, extreme temperatures and soil conditions are all important factors in how productive your crop or garden turns out to be.
Now, think about this – no matter how much you know about plants, you could even have a degree in horticulture – if you don’t use that knowledge your garden will not produce anything.  You could have a large quantity and variety of seeds, however if you keep them in little packages and don’t ever plant them, they will never sprout and grow.  The potential is definitely there.  It is just dormant.  It is waiting for the right environment.
How about you?  Are you waiting for the right environment?  Unlike the seeds for your garden, you don’t have to wait for something outside of you to put you in the best place for growth.  You are in control.  You can change your environment any time you want.  This can be done by changing the existing conditions or physically moving to where better conditions exist.
Are you growing and learning - in your personal life and in your career or business? What environment(s) are you choosing to be in?  Who are you spending time with?  Pay attention to what you are listening to and watching.  What are you thinking about?  If you purposefully choose your environment for growth the benefits will be visible. Is now the right time to take a course, read a book you have been meaning to get to, join a new club or networking group and meet some new people?  Spring is in the air - get ready to bloom!

Out With the Old?

Spring is a natural time for new growth.  If you want to have a garden, this is the the time to plant the seeds for what you want to grow.
If the area for your garden already has things growing there - weeds - would you just ignore them and plant your seeds amongst those weeds?  Why not?  You know that you will have a more successful garden if you clear out the weeds and make the area more welcoming for the nurture and growth of what you plant there.

Hmmm...  How might this apply to some of the areas of your life?  In order to have improved results in health, relationships, finances we often think that we need to "plant" some new ideas.  If you do something different that's how you create a different result.  Sounds good, right?  Consider this - if you just "plant" a new idea amongst the existing weeds how well can it be expected to do?  How can you increase the chance of it thriving?

Time for a little weeding?

Great coaches, great advice

I have just listened to a call with 2 successful business men, Nido Qubein and JT Foxx.  I thought I would share on my blog a thought shared by each of them.  There was a lot of information packed into a 30 minute call.  I think these two nuggets are significant.

From Nido - when asked by JT what 3 things should people do, starting right now, to create success in their lives.  "First is to learn, continually keep learning, second is to focus and the third execute."  He expanded on each, however I couldn't write fast enough to capture it correctly to share it in writing.  I wanted to at least share the essence so there you go :)

From JT - near the end of the call.  "Successful people don't make excuses, they make things happen."  I know that I often catch myself making excuses.  It is easy to try to justify an excuse as a legitimate reason, however upon serious reflection it is often revealed for what it is, just an excuse.  Thanks JT for the reminder!

The Passion Test

I had heard of the Passion Test - created by Chris and Janet Atwood - a while ago.  I saw Janet Atwood on a video demonstrate it.  Well, tonight I met with a group and we had a local Certified Passion Test Facilitator, Solah Nightstar go through the test with us.  Very interesting!  This is another great "discovery" of mine now!

What's holding you back?

I came across a new teacher, Noah St. John, he talks about "Afformations" vs Affirmations.  The main difference is that Afformations are in the form of a question instead of a statement.  I have been thinking about that a lot and noticing when I hear (or say) questions vs statements.

Someone asked me some time ago, "What's holding you back?"  I have had the same question posed in a few different ways by different people since then.  Just this morning I thought, it's a question, but is it the right question?  Maybe I should change the question - maybe that will help me.  I decided that the question I am going to ask myself from now on is "What's moving you forward?"

Spring Cleaning Anyone?

For many people spring is a time for cleaning out some closets - getting rid of some outgrown, broken or out dated items.

This spring, don't just clean out your physical space - put some time and effort into cleaning out your mental space. Do you have ideas or habits that you have outgrown? Do you keep doing things, out of habit, that are more harmful than helpful to yourself? It might be time to clean them out. Decide today to work on developing a new, beneficial, habit or two.

"The individual who wants to reach the top in business must appreciate the might of the force of habit and must understand that practices are what create habits. He must be quick to break those habits that can break him and hasten to adopt those practices that will become the habits that help him achieve the success he desires."

L is for Learning

I was talking to a friend the other day and relating a story of something, not so clever, that I had done recently.  In order to "illustrate" my point I put my hand on my forehead with the thumb extended to form the letter "L".  You probably know what I mean, I was not being very kind to myself - indicating that I was a "loser".  I loved her reaction, she told me that L must be for Learner.  It was her way of reminding me not to be so hard on myself and that I can and did learn something from the situation.  I hope you all have some friends like that, who don't let you be too hard on yourself, they are such a blessing!

A quote I found recently by Mark Twain said "The proper office of a friend is to side with you when you are wrong.  Nearly anybody will side with you when you are right."

A friend (when you are) in need (of encouragement) is a friend indeed!

Robert Louis Stevenson - Daily Dozen

I found a hand typed copy of this in a picture frame.  There are definitely some good thoughts in here.

Daily Dozen

1.  Make up your mind to be happy.  Learn to find pleasure in simple things.

2.  Make the best of your circumstances.  No one has everything, and everyone has something of sorrow intermingled with the gladness of life.  The trick is to make the laughter outweigh the tears.

3.  Don’t take yourself too seriously.  Don’t think that somehow you should be protected from the misfortunes that befall others.

4.  You can’t please everybody.  Don’t let criticism worry you.

5.  Don’t let your neighbour set your standards.  Be yourself.

6.  Do the things you enjoy doing, but stay out of debt.

7.  Don’t borrow trouble.  Imaginary things are harder to bear than the actual ones.

8.  Since hate poisons the soul, do not cherish enmities, grudges.  Avoid people who make you unhappy.

9.  Have many interests.  If you can’t travel, read about new places.

10.  Don’t hold postmortems.  Don’t spend your life brooding over sorrows and mistakes.  Don’t be the one who never gets over things.

11.  Do what you can for those less fortunate than yourself.

12.  Keep busy at something.  A very busy person never has time to be unhappy.

Personal creed of Robert Louis Stevenson

11 Forgotten Laws

One of the first programs that I studied when I got involved in personal development was a great foundation for so many of the concepts that I have heard about and studied since. It is by my mentor, Bob Proctor and another amazing teacher, Mary Morrissey.

It is called The 11 Forgotten Laws

There is so much talk about and attention to The Law of Attraction lately.  This program, based on the book, Working With The Law, by Raymond Holliwell, helps you understand that, although the Law of Attraction is amazing, there is so much more than that.  I have found it to be a resource that I go back and listen to again and again.  Maybe you will find it as useful as I have.  Check it out.

Berate or motivate?

To coach someone is an awesome privilege.  I heard somewhere that after a session with a good coach, you don't think "Wow, they are a great coach!", you think "Wow, I am amazing and capable of amazing things!"  A good coach, like a good parent or manager, draws the best out of whoever they work with.

Of course, there are some people who think that coaching (or parenting, or managing) is yelling at someone, pointing out their faults and basically shaming them into doing better.   It might work for some people by making them mad and moving them into an "I'll show them" attitude.  Unfortunately, that attitude isn't a good one to perpetuate.

I prefer to encourage, en-courage by helping someone see what wonderful outcomes are possible.  Helping someone to dream and then plan how to create that dream in reality, step by step, that is my preferred "modus operandi".

That drives me determined!

A few months ago I was talking to my sister and noticed something we both had said.  The thing about awareness is how helpful it can be to yourself and others (if they are open to it).  Anyway, what she and I both had said, was that something was "driving us crazy"....  Do you ever say "that drives me crazy" or "she or he drives me crazy"?

Think about the law of attraction.  What are you attracting by phrases like that?  Do you want to protect your mental health?  When I noticed that we both, in a short conversation, had said that something was driving us crazy I said "We have to change what we think and say when we are going in that direction."  I came up with a replacement phrase when I start to think or say this or that "drives me crazy".  It is "That drives me determined!"  Now, whenever I hear anyone say that something is driving them crazy, I share this alternative and most people like it.  Now, I have shared it with all of you, my blog readers.  I hope this one little shift will help preserve and protect some mental health in our "going crazy" world.

Note to Technology - I really do want to be friends!

I thought I was so clever :)  We were going to be away for a few days so I set up my posts to automatically appear (in the blogger instructions this is called scheduling).  Very handy.  I love this feature with my online banking so I can post date a payment and then file the bill away instead of keeping it on my desk and having to remember to pay it on the day I want.

I played around with it and figured out how it worked.  At first I missed a step.  After setting up the date and time I wanted it to post on I needed to actually press the "publish" button.  When I looked in my list of blogs then it showed as "scheduled" instead of "draft"....  Aha!  I had discovered the missing link!   So, I proudly saw this work successfully and decided to do it again.

I was surprised this morning to see that my intended post for yesterday, about a great TED talk I wanted to share, was not posted :(   It was waiting there as a draft because I had forgotten one critical step - pressing the Publish button.  It was so obedient - only doing what I had asked, not anticipating what I meant to do but did not "ask" for it to do.  Once I get to be clear in what I want from technology and get good at asking for what I want I am sure we are going to be very good friends!!  I will "keep you posted" (pun intended) on the progress of our friendship :)

Lollipops from TED

I LOVE TED!  And those of you who know my husband's name is Brian might be a little concerned right now :)  Not to worry, TED is not a person, it is an amazing one of my "discoveries" the last year or so.  TED talks are popping up all over the internet.  They come to me from facebook, in emails all recommended by someone as something amazing to watch.  They are on such a diverse range of topics it is astounding!!   I did go to the website and just start watching and had to stop.  I could be there forever.....

So, now I have a filtering process of sorts.  If someone I know recommends or sends me a TED talk then I watch it.  If I think it is amazing as well, I will share it.  All TED talks are not for everyone so I will share the ones on my blog that I think are relevant or would appeal to a wide audience.  If you like them, leave a comment and then I will know what more to share.

Persistence

I am always collecting quotes.  Here are two on the power of persistence.
"Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence.  Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.  Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.  Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts.  Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.  The slogan 'Press On' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race."    Calvin Coolidge
"There is no substitute for persistence!  It cannot be supplanted by any other quality!  Remember this, and it will hearten you, in the beginning, when the going may seem difficult and slow.  Those who have cultivated the habit of persistence seem to enjoy insurance against failure."  Napolean Hill

A whole chapter was devoted to persistence in Napolean Hill's book, Think and Grow Rich.  That's certainly something to think about!

Are you ready for "The Shift"?

Here is the last of my first few emails I sent out using my newly created data base.  I send one out once a week, usually on Tuesdays, and I wanted to put the ones that were sent out before I started my blog on here.  From now on my Tuesday blog post will be the same as my weekly email....  Probably too much information, right?

You may have some things you want to look into "someday", me too.  Offerings cross my path on a daily basis.  I keep a list of items that I want to look into and order - "someday"...

I finally got it! - a movie I had heard about and wanted to get for a while now -
The Shift, by Wayne Dyer.

I watched it the day it arrived and then I watched it again the next day!  The CDs are in my car, I have already listened to the first one and I am looking forward to hearing the rest.

Dr. Dyer has written many books, and I am an avid reader.  It is just that watching a DVD or listening to CDs are such easy ways get information!

Anyway, I just wanted to share my excitement with you!

I got this set through Nightingale Conant  It is a great resource!

Are you ready for a "Shift"?  Maybe this is crossing your path for a reason too..... "Stop acting as if life is a rehearsal." Wayne Dyer

March forth!

I love words, I like how they can mean different things even when they sound the same.  Puns are so fun!  Every year when March 4th comes along I think it is a day to get going on something - to march forth - into new territory, on a new adventure....  What are you going to march forth toward today?

Sing Your Own Song

I heard that Liza Minnelli was told by her mother, Judy Garland "You never have to sing my songs".  This just seemed to me to be such a neat thing for a famous singer to tell her child.  If your child wants to "follow in your footsteps" that is a wonderful thing, even more wonderful is when they sing their own song.

It's Not Too Late

Actually, it's never too late - to do better.  Better is such a great word.  When you think of things that you could have, would have or should have done, just decide to do better from now on.  You know you cannot change the past so don't go there.  Look forward.  It's not too late.

Stop and smell the roses

Every day has amazing opportunities in it.  It is so easy to be distracted and disconnected.  I see people everywhere focused on their phones, texting, reading texts or emails....  Often they are alone, sometimes they are with other people.  It is a real gift to practice being present in the present moment - only.  Not thinking about the "to do" list, fretting over what didn't get done yesterday (and is now added to the list for today - or that elusive "someday"....).  Who is right where you are right now?  Who can you connect with, live and in person?  Set aside the electronic devices for a moment or two each day and just take a few deep breaths, look at your surroundings, especially if you get the opportunity to be outdoors.  You don't have to spend an hour watching the sun go down to appreciate a beautiful sunset.  Grab those special "moments" and encourage those around you to slow down and enjoy the ride too.

Leap Year Bonus Day

Feb 29, 2012 A leap year day.  A bonus day!  I have decided to pretend that this is a day to do something that I have procrastinated on - at least to make a decent dent in it.  I have attended networking meetings for about 4 years now.  You know, the kind of events where you meet people and exchange business cards?  I have made some wonderful connections and have kept in touch with many of the people I have met this way.   Some have become friends, some I have done business with.

Unfortunately, a lot of those business cards have been accumulating in the proverbial "shoe box" for me to get to "some day" and do something with..... Well, I took the plunge a couple of months ago and created a data base so I could keep in touch with people I meet.  It is a way I can send out an uplifting idea or information I think would be useful.  .

The discovery that I have made already, with the people I am connecting with, is that many of them enjoy having something positive coming into their inbox once in a while.  I need to connect with all of the people I have met and let them decide if they also want my weekly communications too.  Today is the day to work on that project!

I encourage you to find something that you have been putting off and consider doing something about it on this "bonus day" that we only get once in 4 years!

Kind? Smart? Important?

Here is my regular email from this week....

Recently, I saw the movie "The Help".  It was an amazing film that I would highly recommend.  Since I love to read I also purchased the book.

There was something that was said from the maid/nanny to a little girl that I think is worth repeating (over and over and over...).  She looked the little girl in the eyes and said "You is kind, you is smart, you is important."

What wonderful words!  I encourage you to share this sentiment with someone today.  If you don't know who to share it with, why not say it to yourself?  "I am kind, I am smart, I am important."  Doesn't that feel good?

By the way, I have created a blog to share more often without being in your inbox with my ramblings more than once a week :) myblog

How Selective are you?

Repost of my weekly email from Feb 7-2012

A couple of wonderful quotes on the related subject of being selective caught my eye recently.

"Few people take objectives really seriously. They put average effort into too many things, rather than superior thought and effort into a few important things. People who achieve the most are selective as well as determined."

Richard Koch

“Selectivity - the determination to choose what we will attempt to get done and what we won't - is the only way out of the panic that excessive demands on our time can create.”
Andrew S. Grove

You and I spend our time and energy on so many different things each day.  Being selective can make the difference between ordinary or extraordinary results.  Something to think about.

Two great quotes came across my path in the last week.  I felt compelled to share them with you.

"There are two primary choices in life: to accept conditions as they exist, or accept the responsibility for changing them."
Denis Waitley Author and Speaker

"Each of us must experience one of two pains - the pain of discipline or the pain of regret.  Which pain will you choose?"  Jim Rohn Author and SpeakerThese quotes challenged me to look at the choices I am making each and every day.  Some big, some small. My choices are shaping my life!Your choices are shaping your life!

Decide, with me - today - to make better choices.  Better is a good word.

Copyright symbol ©

So I learned something new yesterday.  I belong to a networking group and they have a monthly newsletter.  They are always asking for articles so I finally wrote one for submission.  At the end, I wanted to put my name and that little c in the circle (copyright sign) and the year. I didn't know how to accomplish that, so did what has become a habit for so many of us, I Googled it!

Sure enough I got my answer.  For anyone who may need to know this (and for myself when I forget :)) I decided to put it in my blog so I can refer back to it.

You know how you press the Windows key and E to go to "My Computer"?  Well, for the © you press the Windows key and R and then type charmap.exe which brings up a variety of symbols to choose from - who knew?  OK, probably millions of people :) - but this is the neat thing about discovering things!  Even if it isn't new to lots of people it is new to me (or you).  So many useful things are "out there", we just haven't discovered them yet!

Hoping you discover something useful, wonderful, new today!

Shannon

Have a "Love"ly Day

Since it is still February I thought I would repost this email that I sent out to my data base on Valentine's Day.

Love, a good theme for every day, however Feb 14 is especially about hearts, flowers and warm fuzzy feelings.  Today I just have a couple of quotes about love for you to reflect on.

"Love is the ability and willingness to allow those that you care for to be what they choose for themselves without any insistence that they satisfy you."
Wayne Dyer

"If you love something, let it go.  If it comes back to you it is yours.  If it doesn't, it never was."  Unknown

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love never fails."  1 Corinthians 13: 4-8a
Have a "LOVE"LY day everyone!

Is there a Goal Card in your pocket?

In December 2011 I started sending out weekly emails with some thoughts and "discoveries".  In February 2012 I started this blog.  I decided not to waste those weekly posts so will repost here over the next few weeks and then always repost the weekly ones so they are here to refer back to - for myself and for those of you who may find them useful :)  So below is the email from yesterday.....

Do you know what a Goal Card is?  It is a powerful reminder of what you want the most.  It is a magical motivator proven to help you to attain whatever it is you want to have, do or be.  I can hear you saying, "Sure, Shannon, a few lines scribbled on a card is going to change my life, right?"

Well, some people would absolutely say, "Yes!"

A study conducted on students at Harvard in 1979 confirmed that writing goals down increased the probability of achieving them by an amazing amount.  Only 3 percent of the students had written goals.  After 10 years they discovered that those 3 percent were earning 10 times what their fellow students, who had not written down their goals, were earning.

This study was conducted over 30 years ago.  Can you imagine how many people have heard about it since then?  I wonder how many people did anything with that knowledge.  What will you do with it?

It is now the middle of February.  Is 2012 going to be the same for you as 2011?  How about better?

I think I will go and rewrite my goal card :)

Fire! – A Good Sign

Consistent, dependable, unfailing - these words describe one of the keys to success in any endeavour.   Since I am posting again, only one day after I set up this blog, I see this as a very good sign.

“Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire and begin at once, whether you ready or not, to put this plan into action.”  Napolean Hill

I have heard it said that instead of “ready, aim, fire” some of us instead get “ready, ready, ready” or maybe “ready, aim, ready, aim” we just never get to the “fire” part.  Sometimes I need a “fire under me” or a “fire inside of me” to get to the action stage.

The “fire” I needed to start this blog came from Dee Burks at a presentation she gave recently.  Thanks to her, I am going to be sharing what I have been discovering these past 3 years and, of course, what I continue to discover as I continue on my journey.

Thanks for coming along with me.  I hope you learn something too….

Don't wait. The time will never be just right.”  Napolean Hill

Red Letter Day!

February 20, 2012 - a "red letter" day for me (pun intended, did you see the colour of my blog title :))  I have always thought of myself as a non technical type of person, however, I have discovered that once I am friendly with technology, it is most times very friendly back.  This is my first post, I just set up this blog - all by myself - and I expect it will be a great place to share and record my thoughts on a regular basis.  Let the blogging begin!
